Essential Guidelines for Inspecting, Acclimating, and Maintaining Healthy Cannabis Plants

This document provides essential guidelines for inspecting, acclimating, and maintaining healthy cannabis plants upon arrival. It emphasizes checking for strong stems, vibrant leaves, pests, mold, and healthy roots, while also highlighting the importance of moisture control. Endless Biotech guarantees plant health and regularly tests mother plants for diseases like HLVd, Pythium, and Fusarium. Additionally, it outlines preventive measures against white powdery mildew (WPM), stressing the need for immediate spraying to prevent spore germination. Proper acclimation with recommended lighting, temperature, humidity, and feeding protocols ensures a smooth transition and optimal plant growth.

Teen/RTF Care Sheet

Inspect Your New Plants

Upon arrival, inspect your plants carefully, focusing on:

  1. General Health: Look for strong stems, green leaves, and no wilting.
  2. Leaf Condition: Check for yellowing, spots, or discoloration indicating pests or deficiencies.
  3. Pests: Inspect for insects, webs, or holes from aphids or spider mites.
  4. Root Health: Healthy roots should be white and fibrous, not brown or mushy.
  5. Stem Structure: Ensure stems and branches are strong, with no mold or breakage.
  6. Mold or Mildew: Look for powdery substances or fuzzy black spots.
  7. Growth Uniformity: Consistent size suggests proper care.
  8. Moisture: Ensure the growing medium is moist, not waterlogged, to avoid root rot.

A thorough inspection helps catch issues early. Endless guarantees healthy, vigorous plants.

Disease Testing

We routinely test mother plants every four weeks and screen all new genetics for:

  1. Hops Latent Viroid (HLVd): A prevalent cannabis disease that affects growth.
  2. Pythium: A water-borne fungus causing root and stem rot in moist conditions.
  3. Fusarium: A soil-borne fungus thriving in warm, wet climates, especially in Oklahoma.

White Powdery Mildew (WPM)

WPM spreads easily in Oklahoma’s climate. Key factors include:

  1. Humidity & Temperature: High humidity (over 60%) and temperatures between 60°F-80°F favor mildew.
  2. Poor Airflow & Dense Plantings: Limited airflow encourages fungal growth.
  3. Seasonality: Outbreaks peak in spring and early fall with fluctuating temperatures.
  4. Airborne Spores: Spores survive in the air and plant debris, ready to germinate when conditions are right.

Prevention Tip: Spray plants within 12-24 hours of arrival to prevent spore germination, which can occur in as little as 12 hours.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

Endless follows strict IPM protocols for WPM, available upon request. Since WPM spores land and germinate on leaf surfaces, plant health alone won’t prevent infection. Use preventive sprays to block germination.

Acclimating Your Plants

We recommend the following setup for a smooth transition:

  • Lights: 300-400 PPFD (Full Spectrum)
  • Room Conditions:
    • Temperature: 78°F
    • Humidity: 65-68% RH
    • VPD: 0.9-1.0
  • Feeding: We use Athena Pro at 3.0 EC, pH 5.8-5.9. If using other nutrients, perform an RO flush before refeeding to avoid nutrient lockout.

Acclimation Period: 3 days.
